KATIE PRICE HITS BACK

KATIE PRICE lashed out at her critics on live TV today, angrily rejecting claims her Las Vegas wedding was "tacky" and that she is a bad mother.

In her first television interview since her secret wedding to cagefighter Alex Reid, fame-hungry mum Katie Price also attacked the press and said she was keeping "low" rather than encouraging publicity.

The glamour model, aka Jordan, told GMTV presenters Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway: "I've just kept low but you wouldn't think it with all the stuff that keeps coming out.

"People are treating me like I'm a serial killer and like a villain. Actually, what have I done wrong?"

Asked why she doesn't avoid the world of celebrity, Katie hit back: "It's not even just about the money. People forget I have fans out there - really loyal fans."

Speaking about her recent Las Vegas wedding, she ranted: "We didn't do a magazine deal... We filmed [the wedding] ourselves. Well actually the chapel film it and they give you the video.

"It so wasn't tacky at all. You'd think it would be but the reason we got married in Vegas is because we couldn't go to the Caribbean.

"You can't get married unless you've been divorced for a certain amount of days and Vegas is the only place you can do it.

"There was no Elvis. It wasn't tacky at all. In fact the pictures are absolutely gorgeous."

She added: "Nothing was controlled. It was just what me and Alex wanted to do... It was like a dream."

In a bizarre response to allegations she was a bad mum, Katie said: "We have a nurse who works for Great Ormond Street and works for us three times a week and she's the nurse that if kids come in and are abused, she reports them to social services.

"So I'm sure if I was a bad mum she wouldn't have been with me three years and she would have reported me."

She added: "I don't need to be pictured with my kids to prove I'm a good mum. I know I am."
