BARRYMORE JOKES HE'S JEDWARD'S DAD

CRAZED Michael Barrymore stunned TV fans by clucking like a chicken and claiming to be Jedward’s dad.

He ripped up the host’s cue cards and leapt on a sofa, flapping his arms and replying in hen noises.

Barrymore, 57, once the UK’s highest-paid TV star, angered Ireland’s top-rated The Saturday Night Show audience by putting on a weird Irish accent.

And he left host Brendan O’Connor lost for words after claiming he was the real father of singing twins John and Edward Grimes.

There was a long, awkward silence after Barrymore, whose career collapsed when party-goer Stuart Lubbock was found dead in his pool, was asked what he was doing now.

Barrymore slurred: “I’m just … I am … em this year is the year of the sheep. I am the leader of the sheep society.”

He then warbled a version of Charles Aznavour’s 1974 hit She. He crooned: “Sheep, may be the face I can’t regret. Bahhhh. May be the mirror of regret. Bahhhh.”

Barrymore, whose catchphrase in his hey-day was “Awight”, then talked about the next guests John and Edward, 18.

He said: “What have you done with the twins. Where’s the twins? I happen to know their mother well. Extremely well. If you look very closely, seriously, there’s been a reincarnation.

“I send them maintenance money. I don’t wish to shock.”

He then ran into the audience and planted a smacker on the lips of Jedward’s mum Suzanne after asking her: “You remember me?”

Barrymore beat a retreat after looking at the twins’ dad John and confessing: “He doesn’t look very happy.”

A viewer said: “It was bizarre. People didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him.”
