TONY Blair’s former spin doctor Alastair Campbell broke down live on telly yesterday as he defended his old boss.

Campbell fought back tears as BBC host Andrew Marr quizzed him over why the former PM took us to war in Iraq.

He said: “I’m sorry if I get upset about this but I was there alongside Tony, I know how that decision weighed on him, I know the care we took.”

“	Question: What is the lowest form of life ever to crawl out of the swamp? Answer: Alistair Campbell. This disgusting creature is so twisted that he wouldn't recognise the truth even if it came up to him on the street and introduced itself! Allied to the Blair creature this gruesome twosome have done more damage to public life in this country than almost anyone else. It still baffles me that a lowly "Press secretary" was allowed so much power over elected members of the Government. It says something about their weakness that they allowed themselves to be dictated to by a mere civil servant. How they must regret their cowardice now. So the boy weeps and wallows in theatrical self-pity while British troops are still serving and dying in Afghanistan, and many more have died in Iraq, or lost limbs, and all because this liar and his puppet, Blair, lied to this country and Parliament about hussein's capabilities. May he never sleep soundly again!	”
