SIMON COWELL RETURNS TO BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT AUDITIONS TO PART FEUDING JUDGES

ABOVE: Piers Morgan and Louis Walsh have been feuding while filming the TV talent show
8th February 2010

By Peter Dyke

BRITAIN’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell left his sickbed to halt angry audition bust-ups between Piers Morgan and Louis Walsh.

Louis stepped in as a judge on the talent show last week after Cowell was knocked out by flu.

But he and Piers clashed, both on camera and behind the scenes.

Louis, 57, bitched: “Piers is just a poor man’s Cowell.

“He is desperate to be like him. He even tries to act like him.

“How can he be a judge? He is a journalist. He knows nothing about music.”

But Piers, 44, hit back and said: “Louis is a poor man’s Jason Gardiner and that’s about as bad a place as you can find yourself in the talent judging business.

“He is a giggling, fawning leprechaun whose critiques carry the weight of a 2oz gherkin. It’s like having a grandpa on the panel.”

Even fellow judge Amanda Holden, 38, could not control them. And word soon got back to flu- stricken Cowell.

He had planned to stay away until this week to get better but ended up going back early.

Cowell surprised everyone by turning up for auditions in Manchester on Friday and reclaiming his seat on the panel, chucking Louis off.

An insider said: “He decided enough was enough.

“Putting Louis and Piers together was like putting Peter Andre and Alex Reid in the ring.

“It was like World War Three.”

The new ITV series of Britain’s Got Talent returns in late spring.
