THE KOOKS TO CURB BOOZING AT MALLORCA ROCKS GIG

THE Kooks can’t wait to christen the first Mallorca Rocks gig this summer but have vowed to curb their boozing.

And the reborn band have pledged to shine brighter than ever in the Balearic sunshine

The Brighton strummers previously partied so hard at sister event Ibiza Rocks that they fled the legendary complex to avoid paying a four grand bar bill.

But singer Luke Pritchard hopes to have that all sorted by the time the band play at the all-new Mallorca Rocks Hotel with DJ Zane Lowe, 36, on June 6.

Luke, 24, told me: “We’ve got to try and curb it a bit because I’m getting older and the hangovers get worse.

“We’ve done the Ibiza one twice and it’s good fun. You go on late, amps blow up – loads of decadent, unimaginably crazy behaviour.

“I hope Mallorca will be like that.”

The lads have been quiet of late due to feuds within the band.

Luke admitted: “It got a bit much and we had to make a few changes. We were falling out a lot so it wasn’t the most creative time. But now I feel we’re writing the best music we’ve ever done.”

Their next album will be the soundtrack to a nutty summer.

Luke predicted: “I just wanna make a f***ing happy record, one that makes you feel good in the summer, for gigs like this.

“The new songs are very groovy as well. They might surprise a few people.
