MICHAEL JACKSON'S GLOVE SOLD AT AUCTION FOR MORE THAN £250K

By Gareth Dorrian

MICHAEL Jackson’s famous white glove has been bought for more than £250,000 at an auction at New York’s Hard Rock Cafe.

The rhinestone-studded mitt has been branded the Holy Grail of Jacko memorabilia and was bought by Hong Kong businessman Fossman Ma, 36.

It was thought the item, among 80 pieces of Jacko history, would go for less than £40,000.

Mr Ma, who bought it for a resort hotel in Macau, China, said: “It was a fairly good discount.”

And an auction organiser said: “It’s the Holy Grail.”

Jackson fan Kevin Dorman, 28, from New York, said: “People were screaming when the price of the glove started to rise, it was incredible.”

The glove was first worn by Jacko at the height of his fame in 1983.

A fedora the star wore for his Moonwalk went for a little over £13,000.
