OSCAR-nominated Brit Carey Mulligan is desperate to meet Sir Paul McCartney – because his midwife mum delivered her dad.

“I saw Sir Paul at the Golden Globes and that made me go, Oh My God! because my dad was delivered by his mum,” she said.

“I just wanted to go and tell him that.”

Her dad Stephen, who is from Liverpool, was born at the city’s Walton Hospital, where the former Beatle’s mum Mary worked for ten years.

Mrs McCartney died in 1956 when Sir Paul was 14. He reportedly wrote Let It Be after his mum appeared to him in a dream.

Carey, 24, is up against Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock for Best Actress Award for her role as a precocious teen in An Education.
